  • Why are we constantly trying to be better than the person in front of us?

Why do we focus all out energies and give everything we have to try and outdo the people around us?

Why can't we just try and be the best of ourselves?

  • Choices

In life, we are governed by the choices we make.

Its funny how people blindly follow in the footsteps of others, and then pause to regret the path they have chosen. They then blame the people who led them. Everyone of us have choices in our life. In fact, choices determine how our life turn out. We get to choose the path that we take. We choose whether we want to skip class, or whether we want to go for class. We choose whether we want to study, or slack. We choose whether we want to accept reality, or grumble about our misfortunes. We have the right to choose. So why are we still grumbling?

Then you may ask, what about studying? Do we get to choose whether we have to study or not? I'll tell you the answer: Yes, we do get to choose. The idea of having to study was set by your ancestors, by your elders. However it is still your choice on whether you want to study. Different choices breed different outcomes. Its just like how different seeds give you different flowers. By choosing not to study, you would have a whole different life from the people who study. You wouldn't need to go to school. You wouldn't need to take exams. You wouldn't need to worry about results. But every choice we make comes with a consequence.

Consequences come together with the choice that you make. For example, if you choose not to study, you'd probably get it from your parents, and you'll have a different type of life in trying to make a living. Thus we often make choices according to the consequences we want to see happening. We make choices that may result in positive consequences or it may result in negative consequences, but the more important thing to it is that we must take responsibilities for the choices  we make and the consequences that result.

We take responsibility in what we choose because it is a decision that we made. Those are your choices so you've got to account for it. People who are irresponsible are the scumbags of the society. They make a mistake and are too cowardly to own up. Responsibility builds in a man character.

We learn how to face setbacks and think of solutions. Life isn't always a bed of roses. You don't always choose the right way. Occasionally our judgment may be impaired due to influences in our lives. But thats what separates the good from the best: the people who can think clearly and make a choice for themselves even when their judgment is clouded, what is right and what is wrong.

Therefore, we all have choices in life. A choice of what we want to do in our life, what we want to achieve, where we want to end up at. You choose your own destiny. Don't blame it on others; blaming on others is just an excuse. Choose how you want to feel about your A Levels.

    Dream

I went for Muse, the ACJC Band concert yesterday with kao, wj, cedric, sophil, shibin, eli, mark lui. It was the awesome-st thing in the past few days. The solos and encore everything just clicked into place. Then dinner at Carl's Jr with them and talked at dinner. We took a stroll to the Esplanade and waited till the people attending Choir concert came out. All of them went home except kao and i, where we went with the soccer dudes plus lynette and sarah to makansutra. Lastly, home.

Today was more study-play kinda day. Met marc seah and kao in town at abt 11 to study. Bought tickets for Hancock, and at the meantime we took out our stuff to study. Then marc seah had to ask the worst question of all: Have you watched Kungfu Panda? So we got nicole and bought tickets for kungfu panda, which was before hancock. Studied for another hour then watched kungfu panda. It was quite good. Movie intermission time and we went back to studying. After another hour we trodded up for hancock. The storyline for hancock is quite good i must say. Played a round of arcade basketball then crashed home.

On my bus ride home, I thought about what i really wanted to do when i grow up, what i'd like to do for my job and it hit me quite hard that it didn't really matter what I do in the future, as long as i'm happy.

I hope that i can work in PR in the future since i love being around lots of people.  Although it hasn't really occurred to me which industry i'd like to go to. I like the fact how people who work in PR can just sit around and chat about serious stuff but nonetheless still chatting. If i ever get the chance to be self-employed, meaning a director of some sort, I would want to be in the depths of discussions. The bottom line is: I want to be able to interact with people.

My greatest dream would be to travel to different parts of the world to see different sceneries with the people i care most about. I believe that the greatest things in life are those that are not yet captured by your memories. However, this is a really expensive dream.

I do have a more absurd dream considering i'm in Singapore and that is to be a football manager! Quite impossible i know but every success begins with a dream. If one day this dream truly is realised i'll be sure to inform all of you or maybe you'll just see me on tv. Haha.

It is what you perceive of your opportunities that define your life. How are you defining yours?

  • We got the most retard-ass impromptu plans ever. HAHA.

It was 2:15. I was sitting in the void deck with Kao and Dennis, slacking around. Kao and I just came from the library and wanted to induct people into watching movies in the library with us.

At 2:19, Marc Seah walks towards the void deck from the concourse. He sat at our table and we broke the question. He thought we wanted to watch a movie at the cinema and suggested Hulk. So we immediately checked the papers for movie timings. LOL! (we were supposed to be studying in school) We found a show at cine for 3pm so we started recruiting people to watch with us.

2:25, everybody wanted to study, so we left school and cabbed down to cine.

2:40pm, reached cine and proceed upstairs to the ticketing counter.

2:48pm, tickets bought. slacked around then went in to watch the show.

30 minutes was all it took! We only took 30 mins to plan this whole shit and buy the tickets. HAH!. We must be the best people around in planning things.
